For many musicians, fans and critics, the New York-based band The Strokes were the "saviors of rock" when they released their first album "Is This It" in 2001. As of that date, the band has risen as Foam and are currently one of the best rock bands in the world. Their music has a style of their own and that is why they are already working on their new record material. This was announced by Albert Hammond, a well-known singer and father of Albert Hammond Jr., guitarist of The Strokes in an interview with The West Australian.
He pointed out that the album's production will be directed by Rick Rubin. "They're making a new album right now with a great producer named Rick Rubin. I talk to him every day and says they are very happy, " says Hammond, adding that he believes it will be a very successful album.
The new full length album would come out after the EP "Future Present Past" they released last year. His last record was "Comedown Machine" in 2013. On the other hand, the rapprochement between the producer and the band had already existed since 2007 but in the end did not materialize.
Rubin is one of the most important media producers in the last thirty years as he has worked with the Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Slayer, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave , Jay Z, The Mars Volta, Slipknot, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Linkin Park, U2, Green Day, LCD Soundsystem, Adele, Black Sabbath, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran and others.
