Artists like Icelandic Bjork, Bon Jovi, Oasis or Guns N'Roses have had problems with the Chinese authorities and even have suffered cancellation of concerts at the last minute by political disagreements with the communist regime.
The Chinese authorities revealed that they have closed the doors to future performances of the Canadian singer Justin Bieber due to the "bad behavior" of the pop idol inside and outside this country.
"It is not appropriate for artists to enter the country who have had inappropriate behavior," the Beijing Municipal Culture Bureau said in a statement issued this week responding to a fan's request for Bieber to perform in China.
"Bieber is a very talented but also controversial young singer, and as a public figure he has had a series of inappropriate behaviors in his social life, both abroad and within China," explains the note.
The country has not yet allowed the 23-year-old singer to act on Chinese stage "in order to regulate the order of the performances and purify their environment," adds the document published on the official website of the Department of Peking culture.
This concludes with the desire that "Justin Bieber can improve his words and behaviors as he matures and becomes a true pop singer."
China has banned the entry of numerous international artists in the past, although it is very unusual for the authorities to explain the reason for these vetoes, as they have done with Bieber.
Artists such as Icelandic Bjork (who shouted slogans in favor of an independent Tibet at a concert in Shanghai), Bon Jovi, Oasis or Guns N'Roses have had problems with Chinese authorities and have even suffered late-night concert cancellations due to disagreements With the communist regime.
Bieber made a tour of concerts in China in 2013, when he caused some controversy as he toured the Great Wall and took photos being carried on his backs by his bodyguards.
However, Bieber's biggest polemic with China was a year later when he visited Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, a place quite unpopular in other East Asian countries because he honors, among others, war criminals at the time when The Japanese Army invaded Chinese territory.
