The Bogota singer will present the new edition of his fifth album "+ Conexión" in three concerts in Spain and one in France, places in which he intends to highlight Colombian music
Colombia is a country "passionate", a "festival of flavors and colors" and a "diversity of sounds and rhythms" and that is what Fonseca wants to show in his performances in Spain and France, he explains in an interview with Efe.
Winner of five Latin Grammy Awards, Fonseca presents in mini-tour - three concerts in Spain and one in France - the new edition of his fifth album + Conexion, his work "more eclectic" so far, with a diversity of genres and sounds that Wanted to portray from the title, because it "connects" all his musical tastes.
The first concert will be on July 20 in Barcelona and then will follow Madrid (21), Santander (23) and Paris (24) and in all of them will remember successes as I send flowers, Arroyito, Eres mi sueño or I came to look for you, first Single from her latest album, and winner of the Latin Grammy for Best Tropical Song.
Precisely a new urban version of Vine to look for you, along with the duo Alexis and Fido, is one of the novelties of + Conexión that also includes two songs written for the series "El comandante", about the life of Hugo Chavez, and two other collaborations .
How can I understand you, with the Colombian Andrés Cepeda, and Between my life and yours with the Spanish India Martínez.
"Since I wrote this song I felt that there was something that united with Spain and when I showed it to Antonio Carmona also noticed, especially in the choir," says the singer, for whom having the voice of Martinez "gives meaning "To that link between tropical rhythms and flamenco.
Among his links with Spain, Carmona stands out, "a great friend" with whom he has already made songs that have not yet been published, and Miguel Bosé, whom he has always admired and recorded with Bambu for "Unplugged" , A "dream fulfilled" for Fonseca.
Colombian music mixes Latin rhythms like salsa and vallenato, but also something of pop, because what Fonseca likes is to play with different genres, listen to different sounds and let themselves be influenced when composing.
"Music says a lot of what a country is and I want people to see that Colombia is that diversity of rhythms, letters, sounds, that it is a passionate, joyful, intense country, that our music is a festival of many flavors And many colors, "says the artist.
Many of his lyrics sing to love and others to heartbreak, but all are inspired by life, things that happen to him and in which he imagines.
The "funniest" part of composing and describing how to be a little actor, is to "put yourself in other people's shoes and think about different situations".
But his songs not only seek to amuse, but also carry a message, as in Sacred Life, song he composed for the series "The Commander" and in which he reflects on "what little life is worth in many parts of the world" Of the "dementia of terrorism".
He has also sung to peace, in a version of Now the time has come, song with the exbeatle Ringo Starr and for which he wrote a fragment in Spanish.
Regarding the peace process in Colombia, Fonseca is optimistic, despite the fact that "it has not been an easy road" since "it is still lacking" to achieve peace.
