Since the singer died, representatives of the artist's heritage work to bring their music back to digital platforms, such as Spotify.

Prince's official videos began appearing on YouTube on Friday, a year after the death of the pop star, who was a big enemy of the site.

The videos of some of his classic songs, including songs from his 1984 film "Purple Rain", such as "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" became available on an official Prince account.

The account is tied to the Prince brand under Warner Brothers Records, which last month relaunched "Purple Rain" in an expanded edition that peaked at number four on Billboard's latest album chart.

Prince was one of the first to adopt the Internet but then became an avid critic, claiming that the omnipresence of free online music economically affected the artists.

The musician hired a team of monitors who used legal means to download their videos from the network, including short clips made by fans of the style that have become habitual in social networks.

When asked about his stance shortly before his death, Prince wrote on Twitter in a message that he immediately deleted: "Since YouTube does not pay fair license fees, is not this an absurd question?"

Prince died in April 2016 at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota for an accidental overdose of heavy painkillers.

Since then, his family has stepped up efforts to monetize his music, explaining that he needed to take steps to keep the property afloat.

Its catalog returned earlier this year to all major streaming sites, including Spotify.
