The first trailer of the film that explores all the youth of Morrissey came out until it was united with Johnny Marr and created The Smiths. The film is slated to be released on August 4 officially and worldwide, however, the preview will be on July 2 at the Edinburgh International Film Festival and stars Jack Lowden ( Dunkirk, A United Kingdom ) as Steven Patrick Morrissey, Jessica Brown Findlay ( Downton Abbey, Black Mirror ) as her best friend, Linder Sterlin. The production is in charge of Baldwin Li and Orian Williams, is himself that made of producer of "Control" film on Ian Curtis and Joy Division.
In an earlier interview by Nik Carter and Lori Majewski, the director noted that they had decided to rename "Steven" to "England Is Mine," a title based on the iconic lyric of The Smiths' hit "Still III."
