William Anthony Colón Román has established himself throughout his years as one of the greatest exponents of salsa. And the American trombonist and composer made an impression with the best artists of the 60s, 70s and 80s as Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Charlie Palmieri, Ray Barreto, Hector Lavoe, Rubén Blades and many more. Today, bad sauce is {a fulfilling 50 years, and should be celebrated.
Son of Puerto Rican immigrants, Willie Colón was born in the Bronx neighborhood, and from an early age acquired music as art of improvement, thanks to his grandmother who taught him to play the trumpet when he was eleven.
At 15 he changed the trumpet by the spin and came to occupy a space with the Fania label to start playing the fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms, blues and jazz. Fame caught since age 18 and has since made more than 40 albums and sold over 30 million copies, therefore, and to celebrate its 50 years we leave his best songs.
