The reggaetonero has a private instructor who helps you perfect the language. The artist says he has tried to be very disciplined and it also makes for personal taste.
With an English teacher on tour and disciplined studies, the Colombian reggaetonero Maluma faces its new business purpose: to break into the Anglophone market.
"It is a goal and a purpose that I have had for some months. I've been traveling with English instructor, I tried to be very disciplined with the issue," said the singer of "Blackmail" in the Latin conference organized music by Billboard in Miami.
"Hopefully there is a growth in my career if I make music in English. But more than anything I want to do for personal taste," he said at the Ritz-Carlton Miami Beach hotel.
Author of hits that swept Latin America and Spain as "No contract", "loser" or "Borro cassette" Juan Luis Londoño Arias jumped to record market after gaining popularity in social networks.
"I knew that social networks would be the platform to share my music and that's how I started: using Twitter and sharing my videos on YouTube," said the singer of 23 years before an audience of about 500 people. "That's how it all started".
The teen idol has more than 45.5 million followers on social networks and account YouTube / VEVO has accumulated more than 4,000 million clicks.
Maluma, who has collaborated with Ricky Martin and Shakira will perform on Thursday at the awards Billboard Latino, for which it was named a finalist in seven categories, including Social Artist of the Year.
