A Madrid court has admitted a lawsuit for alleged plagiarism against Carlos Vives and Shakira for their hit song "La Bicicleta" 2016 Latin Grammy for best song, they indicated Thursday to judicial sources.
The lawsuit was filed by the publisher MDRB (Maryla Dianik Romeu), representing the Cuban singer Livan Rafael Castellanos, known as LIVAM, who argues that the catchy copy fragments of his song "I love you so much" 1997.
Specifically, the chorus of the hit song of Shakira and Carlos Vives Colombians say "you sleep and I love you so much" and the Cuban sings "I love you, I love you so much."
The complaint was accepted by the Commercial Court number 12 of the Spanish capital and aims to Carlos Vives, Shakira, producer Andres Castro and Sony Music.
According to a judicial source confirmed, it is a complaint by a problem "intellectual property", and the judge has issued a resolution which gives 20 days for the parties "to answer the demand."
