The Shoegaze is not dead. The British band Slowdive just released a new single after 22 years of absence. The song is called "Roving Star" and you can already hear all digital platforms.
Reading the original band it was formed in 1989 and since then has been a benchmark of alternative music, specifically Shoegaze genre. His first EP was released in 1990 and was called "Slowdive". A year later they released their first studio album that took by name "Just for a day". In 1993 they released two EP "5 EP" and "Outside your room" and a disc "Souvlaki". Getting its world consecration. The last album was published "Pygmalion" in 1995 and separated when Savill and Chaplin left the band, while the other members formed Mojave3.
On the new song, Neil Halstead has posted on Facebook: "When the group decided to get together in 2014, really wanted to compose new music. It has taken a lot of direct and false starts to get to that point, but we proudly launched and some fear "Star Roving". It is part of a lot of new songs we've been working and who are equally fun and relevant when we play together now than we did when we started. We hope you like it".
Today the members are Rachel Goswell (vocals and guitar), Neil Halstead (vocals and guitar), Christian Savill (drums), Nick Chaplin (bass) and Simon Scott (drums). Still no further information on whether to launch a disc, but we assume that itself should come in the way.
Slowdive only has a concert scheduled for 2017 and on June 3 at the Field Day in London.
