They say the great singers die on stage. And so it happened to Memo Morales who died at dawn on January 1 when he sang at a concert New Year's Eve in the Galician Brotherhood in Caracas.
The marabino singer who was 79, suffered a heart attack while singing on stage, interrupting the show altogether. A soon he was treated and taken to a health center but arrived dead.
In the official Twitter account, the orchestra Billo's Caracas Boys confirmed the news
"Just leave us our Gitano Maracucho MEMO MORAL, starting unfortunate news that you will always remember 2017. Memo!"
Guillermo Enrique Morales Portillo was born on April 6, 1937 in Maracaibo, Zulia state and was more beloved voice of the orchestras of Luis Alfonzo Larrain and Billo's Caracas Boys.
Morales was also known as "El Gitano Maracucho" and began his musical life in 1953 in the section Garrido member of the orchestra and its soloists.
In 1964, he worked closely with Billo Frómeta in the orchestra Billo's Caracas Boys. He also sang with Cheo Garcia (El Guarachero of America) and Jose Luis Rodriguez (El Puma) by icons such titles as "Ni purchased, or sold", "Long Live Spain" The first Pasodobles written by Billo Frómeta "Needed two "," Rumors "," Parece Mentira "," the Rogue "," Damele Bitumen "," Juanita Bonita "," What Have You "," Eve "," Blonde and Brunette "and many more.
On 1 April 2016 was named Honorary Citizen and Goodwill Ambassador by the mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, for his great musical contribution to humanity.
