Conductor of the New Year's Concert in Vienna
Gustavo Dudamel will be fulfilled a dream when Sunday raise his baton to direct the traditional New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic, which reach more than 50 million viewers in 93 countries.
"It's a dream come true," Dudamel said in Vienna during the press conference of presentation of the famous event, like all early January, will take place in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein program.
With its 35 years, the Venezuelan will thus become the youngest orchestra director to date has addressed this famous concert.
He considered it "an honor" to move to integrate the list of great teachers with the Vienna Philharmonic sent in this way his New Year greeting to the world as Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, Carlos Kleiber, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Nikolaus Harnoncourt Seiji Ozawa and Daniel Barenboim among others.
Dudamel was also excited by the fact that British actress Julie Andrews present the televised version of the event in the United States.
"It happened sooner than expected and makes it even more special," so that after this achievement, "peace can enter paradise," said the musician enthusiasm.
"I never imagined being a child of Barquisimeto (Venezuela) and was like something really far," said the director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (USA) and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra.
It was in "The System", known as the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Venezuela and part symphony, where Dudamel began studying violin with only four years.

Regarding the concert program, focusing on waltzes and polkas of the dynasty of musicians of the Strauss and some of his contemporaries, he emphasized its traditional character.

Dudamel praised the Viennese Philharmonic and was modest when assessing their own role and their relationship with them, compared with that of a couple dancing a waltz.
