The band The Coral was rated by critics as the first English band resurgence of groups guitars (guitar group revival). Its beginnings started in 1996 on the Wirral peninsula near Liverpool, when James Skelly, Lee Southall, Paul Duffy, Nick Power, Ian Skelly and Bill Ryder-Jones gathered at the school to form a band which later was formalized with The Coral.
His music carries genes influence of the most important band of Liverpool: The Beatles, composing an eclectic mix of pop-rock, folk-country, psychedelia of the seventies and even Britpop.
In its beginnings they were avasallantes, working on the composition and creation of cancione without stopping. His first EP was "Shadows Fall" (2001) was followed by "The Oldest Path" (2001) and "Skeleton Key" (2002).
And although the band split up in 2010 by decision of all members, they left to his credit five musical productions. With their self-titled debut album and achieved the glory in 2002, being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize that year and then was elected as the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine.
After they released "Magic & Medicine" (2003), which together with "The Coral" were produced by Ian Broudie of the band The Lightning Seeds. Later they released a mini-album titled "Nightfreak and the Sons of Becker" (2004) achieving the # 5 spot on the hottest songs in the UK. With "The Invisible Invasion" (2005) it fared much better and achieved the No. 3 position. The last album was "Roots & Echoes" (2007) that did not have the same impact as others.
All album by The Coral came under the label Deltasonic and his music influenced bands like The Zutons, The Dead 60's and The Basement.
