After 3 years without publishing a new musical project, the American band Nine Inch Nails announced that December 23 will a new EP. The promise had been made by Trent Reznor of the band mastermind when he promised that before the end of the year would make public a new album. "New things NIN arrive in 2016. And other things too , " said Reznor end of 2015.
The EP will be called "Not the Current Events" and consists of 5 songs that were recorded by Reznor and Atticus Ross his main collaborator, which from this project is an official member of the band. Remember that Reznor is the vocalist, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist of NIN and when he comes on tour is that groups various musicians.
"The EP is now Reznor and NIN official member of Atticus Ross taking an unexpected turn from Hesitation Marks and sounding unrecognizable in his recent works for films , " the band said in a statement.
"It 's a hostile record, quite impenetrable we needed to do. It is an EP because it ended up being the right time to tell this story. " Reznor said.
"Not the Current Events" will be available digitally and on vinyl. In addition, they announced that republished his third album "The Fragile" which came out in 1999. "The Fragile has a very intimate and interesting place in my heart. He was going through turbulent times when I did and revisiting this work has been a great therapy for me. I removed all the vowels as an experiment on the disc, and resulted in an experience of another level , "said Reznor.
Finally, the discography of NIN will be reissued on vinyl only in an edition that is called "Definitive Editions". Reznor wants to present the issue "as it should be, without compromise. That means a remastering of the original audio careful, painstaking recreation of artwork, original materials, some surprises and extraordinary attention to detail. "
The work will consist of four LP featuring 37 songs, including several unreleased and alternate versions to instrumentals.
