The Global Citizen Festival, New York, takes 5 years delighting audiences in the Big Apple and in all its editions, has saved room for some surprise. And, as expected, this year was no exception. The note of the day gave Eddie Vedder, lead singer of Pearl Jam, singing with Chris Martin, Coldplay leader.
The two idols came together to perform "Don`t Dream It`s Over", an original song by the New Zealand band Crowded House. Vedder was commissioned to start singing the first verses, while Martin then joined from the piano, in what was a presentation to remember.
Similarly, the event was attended by high-end artists like Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, Cat Stevens, and even Metallica. In addition, as special guests, were Usher, Demi Lovato, Major Lazer and Yandel reggaeton.
The Global Citizen Festival was created by self Coldplay's Chris Martin in 2012 with the aim of combating global poverty. Since then, he has grouped bands like Stevie Wonder, Sting, Metallica and Pearl Jam.
