10 years of Here we go from Cerati
2016 marked 10 years of the launch of Here we go. At the time I was a comeback for fans of Gustavo Cerati an artist who returned to distortions, away from experimentation with electronic touches is always today, a good album, but very large and as diverse songs in style that can cause some flee at some point to not tolerate such sudden changes in its development.
No, in this album the Argentine had again senses the power rock with which he got used to many in sign s or animal song Soda Stereo. However, vocalist then warned about linking moments.
"One of the slogans of this album was lifting tempos. Live tended to accelerate what he had done on discs. This time I wanted something more seasoned input. That you refer to Soda Stereo, because our subjects had that number of beats per minute. But beyond these details, I feel that no issue of this disc establish a direct link with something else. There is everything is, as I said the other day, the illustrated manual of Cerati. Go through all my times, without ever specifically any "he said in an interview with the newspaper Pagina 12 May 2006, a month after the launch of production.
And yes, the composer was right. Here we go is a review of many of the concerns that had Cerati as a musician, something like what Radiohead just made with A Moon Shaped Pool.
Another element that draws attention is that there we recorded a much more direct artist in his lyrics. It is not as enigmatic as singing. Although three years later he retaliated when he launched natural force, his latest production.
"2007 was a year focused around Soda. I dedicated myself to it completely and then I took some time, a little countershaft of all that adrenaline. However, I see more dialectical regarding There we go, that is distortions, rock power. This time preponderó psychedelia, folk, blues, etc., "he told El Nacional in May 2010 just days before his presentation at the Simon Bolivar University.
Here we represented the reaffirmation of Cerati as a musician capable of revisiting, but without repeating. He knew very well how to cope as the rocker was always, without falling into sounds that would lead to nostalgia. Is the return to rock, but with the concerns of those who are unhappy.
