Saturday August 13 was the premiere of the musical "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in the Cultural Center BOD, located in La Castellana, Caracas.
The work, the Uruguayan Avo Perez weaves the story of Lucy girl, Rita threatened by her stepmother, who wants to marry his father, the widower John; with the legendary music of The Beatles.
Over the course of two hours, it is happening dramatic scenes and songs that weave the facts. Armando Alvarez directs the work, with the performance of young talent. And boy are talented: spectacular voices and convincing acting.
Although this musical can be seen by the smallest of the house, it should be noted that it is necessary to continue reading translations of the songs, whose subtitles are read on screens placed on the stage.
However, the largest and most teenage boys enjoyed the whole plot and music of the famous quartet of Liverpool, and watching the show we came up with the feeling that this music is about to become (care if it is not already) in true classical music : post-60's generation and enjoy and know those sounds as well as know the repertoire of past centuries.
The work will be in theaters until Sept. 10.
