Luis Quintero and the tribute to Alirio Díaz

It was a beautiful meeting: guitarists Esteban Ojeda, Enrique Bravo and Luis Quintero tore the strings of their instruments to honor the recently deceased Venezuelan guitarist Alirio Diaz.

The concert was held on Thursday, August 11 Juana Sujo in the room of the Casa del Artista, Caracas, through the auspices of the Avinpro (Venezuelan Association of Performers and Producers of Phonograms) and the Casa del Artista.

It began with the screening of a video on the life and work of Alirio Diaz. Then Ojeda performed works of authorship, although parts were not known for Diaz, were inspired by the work of transcription and arrangements of Venezuelan music made the honoree as work enrichment of contemporary guitar repertoire.

Bravo then he addressed three works by Antonio Lauro, "The nigger", "The gatica" and "Valse Yacambú or No. 4", which itself formed part of the repertoire of Diaz.

Once this part was completed, there came a true musical feast: the adage "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Joaquin Rodrigo in arrangement for two guitars by Quintero and Bravo. Each guitar was weaving melody and accompaniment, which gives a true rapture.

Finished this part, Quintero performed "Elegy" JK Mertz, "Carora" and "Angostura" Lauro, and "The Caujaritos" Ignacio "Indio" Figueredo, in accordance Diaz; and he closed the concert the famous valse "Natalia" a duet with Bravo under Romulus Lazarde for the second guitar.

It was a significant moment, because it was also conducive to Luis Quintero received recognition for 40 years of artistic career, both from Avinpro and the Casa del Artista.
