"This is Caracas" is the title of the latest album of The Gunners, group celebrates 30 years of artistic career, deciding that his Aniversary party was a tribute to Caracas.
The group The Gunners since 1982 has been dedicated to rescue and maintain caraqueña music, the same as the group does not like to be called "old time music" live, because in his opinion "the pigeonholes in the past." For this group, born as a quintet and now has nine members, the gunboat music is the authentic music of the city, is the musical language of the Venezuelan capital, both yesterday and today, and it is precisely for that reason they decided conclusion that the best they can do is pay homage to Caracas. And the first gift of this holiday is a merengue recorded and that is a foretaste of things to come during the year.

The theme, entitled "This is Caracas" and makes a particular overview of the city, was attended by several special guests: Aristides Barbella, singer of the rock band Malanga; songwriter Max Pizzolante, the iconic voice of Francisco Pacheco, Venezuelan music singer Cecilia Todd, aka rapper Ramses Meneses McKlopedia; Horacio Blanco, lead singer of the ska group Public Disorder; besides the participation of Serenata Guayanesa group. Of course there are the voices of Ylich Orsini and the female voice of the group since the beginning of this caraqueña band, Hely Orsini, it touches the grater.

The song is a caraqueño merengue, lyrics, music and arrangement Ylich Orsini, director of the group and the production was in charge of Chapis Lasca, bassist group Malanga, who was part of the Gunners in the late 90s.

In the song features a saxophone solo by one of the most outstanding musicians in the country, as is the multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Brea, who has more than 20 years as part of the Caracas group. Beside him and Orsini brothers involved in this recording as musicians Arnaldo Sanchez, drummer and founder of the group; Andrew "cap" on the trumpet Romero, Salvador Sáez on trombone, Army Zerpa bass and Isaac Narvaez on the keyboard.

Audiovisual way to document this work, he was under production Vadim Lasca which sees the participation of musicians, singers and guests in the recording of the song "This is Caracas".
With this contentiva of 14 songs that musically run through several decades of musical history, but strictly attached to the rhythms that are part of the gunboat music album: joropos, waltzes, pasodobles and meringues, the Gunners want to give it a new boost to the Caracas music. It is part of what they call the "gunboat renewal" so that this genre remains, as goes the slogan of the group, the young music of the old ... Caracas For Caracas does have who sing it!
"This is Caracas" is an album for fans of our flagship city, its culture and tradition, as well as a collector's item for any music lover, who no doubt be delighted with songs like "Bella Caracas", "Message to Juan Vicente "" Doña cuatricentenaria "," Sultana del Avila "," I'm Caracas "," caraqueño Feeling "," Lady antañona "," the song of Caracas "," it is Caracas "," I am Venezuelan "," Isidoro " "In Caracas I stay", and of course, "A song for Caracas" and "This is Caracas".
