July 12 is the birthday of singer Gualberto Ibarreto, Venezuelan artist, native of Sucre state. That day up at 69 years old. Long live Gualberto!
So as Ibarreto oriental music is cultivated. CULTURAL both he and Maria Rodriguez have been commissioned to spread the beauty of these rhythms. In the particular case of Gualberto, the beautiful baritone voice with which diffuses joins her singing.
This artist has been the subject of many tributes, and these days several Venezuelan artists will honor the music that has been released: malagueñas, poles, jacks, oriental joropos; but also boleros like "Longing", "I am the thief."
Venezuelan oriental music is an important part of the musical tradition of that country; and often it has not been valued enough, left out, unfortunately, often by Oriental own. When you go through those regions to visit, and places the radio, the music of East is heard, and worse, when cradling babies, they are not singing these tunes, but what fashion imposes on the radio. The seriousness of this is that this is the way the musical tradition is lost.
