The teacher Alirio Diaz stunned the world with the news of his death, on July 5 at night in Rome (Italy).
Virtuoso guitarist, was the first international musician who had Venezuela in the twentieth century (if we consider that Teresa Carreño did the same in the nineteenth century). Thanks to master Alirio, the music of Antonio Lauro was known worldwide, like much of the Venezuelan and Latin American popular music. Since his guitar resonated the most beautiful melodies, with feeling and sincerity.
The repertoire for guitar and orchestra was also among the compositions used to play this guitarist, born in La Candelaria, near Carora (Lara state) population, 12 November 1923.
Diaz was a teacher, a professor of countless guitarists in the world. His supreme work was sponsoring, at his own expense at first and then with contributions from the Venezuelan government after the International Guitar Competition "Alirio Díaz". Soon it celebrates the twentieth edition of the event, which adds value and gives relevance to the virtuous talents of the six strings.
Alirio Diaz, his legacy will be remembered forever, since there is virtually guitarists in the world that have not been touched with his wisdom and magic.
