37:07 minutes was enough to change the history of alternative rock. That is the duration of the album "The Queen is Dead" by the British band The Smiths that on June 16 turned 30 years of its launch.

With that record of 10 songs "The Queen is Dead" "Frankly, Mr. Shankly", "I Know It's Over", "Never Had No One Ever", "Cemetry Gates", "Bigmouth Strikes Again", "The Boy with the Thorn in his Side "," Vicar in a Tutu "," There Is a Light That Never Goes out "and" Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others "composed entirely by vocalist Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr. This pair managed to change the perception of a youth generation that was submerged in the regime of the Orthodox Margaret Thatcher and the conceptual and traditional machismo British rock and roll.

His lyrics are a critique of society, speak of unrequited love, suicide and hate record labels. They are an ode to poetry with great literary influence was against religion. Through an enviable musicalización riff and melancholic melodies, they managed to group the sounds of the sixties and leave a mark on a whole generation of living in a dark and gloomy universe.

The album was the third of the Manchester band that formed in 1982 and following his first album called "The Smiths" and "Meat is Murder". The album was released by the record label Rough Trade Records and produced by Marr and Morrissey with the help of engineer Stephen Street, who already had relied on his previous album.

The rhythms were accompanied by the other two members of the band, Andy Rourke on bass and Mike Joyce on drums. The album cover showing the dead queen, was designed by Morrissey, I was influenced by the film "L'Insoumis" Alain Delon.

To give you a reference of the magnitude of the album, in 2013 was listed by NME magazine as the best album of alternative rock world. You choose your favorite songs, but its complement, the entire disk is an explosion of sounds and melodies of worship.
