Beastie Boys was a native band of the city of New York founded in 1981. The camp began with Country music, then he moved to Hardcore Punk on his first recordings, but later its members began to experience as pioneers of rap , becoming reference escencial gender. They have also released albums oriented genres like jazz or funk.
The group was founded by Michael Diamond (Mike D), Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock) and Adam Yauch (MCA) †. However, other musicians have joined the group as Kate Schellenbach and John Berry, who were in training prior to recording their first album, the hardcore "Pollywog Stew" within the independent label punk Ratcag Records in 1981.
The latter, John Berry, sadly passed away at age 52 as a result of dementia. The artist had been admitted to a nursing home city of Massachusetts in the United States.

Although Berry founded the group in 1981, was only a couple of years years with them, the musician left the group after having played guitar on their first album, after their space was replaced by Adam Horovitz, who the Beastie Boys would hits as 'Fight For You Right'.
His father, John Berry III, told Rolling Stone magazine that Berry helped found the Beastie Boys in the early 1980s after meeting the future Mike Diamond member of the Walden School in New York.

The Beastie Boys were dissolved in 2014 after the death of Adam Yauch, who was one of the founders and masterminds behind the irreverent music of this legendary hip hop band.
