Aterciopelados is elemental part of our Latin American cultural idiosyncrasies. The decade of the 90s has his songs as soundtrack of our lives. Since his breakthrough with "Florecita rock" the voice of Andrea Echeverri, with his folk paraphernalia and cultural vanguard, that approach gave us that sense of belonging to a group that captured our essence.

He spent eight years of absence, hiatus, contempt or whatever to be his partner Hector Buitrago and Andrea Echeverri got together with accompanying them on their journey band sound.

It was that show the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of Rock al Parque Festival 2014 in Bogota, Colombia, where 140,000 people chanted his successes, which led to his record label to propose to repeat this experience in a CD, in fact, burn video to be released on DVD.

Thus it was born Gleaming, screeching and Velvety (Sony Music, 2016), a CD / DVD Live containing nine of his hits, a track Connector (Hector Buitrago) and a nightingale (Andrea Echeverri) and an unpublished for this moment.

A special occasion to invite musicians like Marco Farinango (Waka) in "Puzzle" Mexican León Larregui (Zoé) in "Evil", the Spanish singer Macaco "Blue Light" and countrywomen Goyo (Chocquibtown) and Catalina Garcia ( Monsieur Perine) for the classic "Florecita rock".

Aterciopelados - Florecita Rockera ft. Goyo, Catalina Garcia

The repertoire focuses on disks El Dorado (1995), The Pipe of Peace (1996), Atomic Caribbean (1998) and Gozo Poderoso (2000), the most successful of the band period and issues flagrantest yes. It is worth noting that this plate in the end is terse, supported in nostalgia and grandeur of a band that knew how to compose Latin American classics. An excuse to revive the catalog.

In these times of exposure of singer-songwriters, the appearance of the band format, at least we already know and play it safe, it is a good exercise to restore faith to the work of Latin American bands.

Andrea and Hector come out to show an unreleased track live, is "Re", a tribute to acclaimed the album of Cafe Tacuba the same name, with which the Mexicans became the greatest influence of alterlatino born in the mid 90s. Many of the words used in the piece begin with this word and pitch in the song, hence the disc has the title Gleaming, screeching and Velvety was conceived.
