On April 16 Ecuador suffered one of the greatest disasters in its history. A powerful earthquake of 7.9 on the richter scale (and numerous replicas) destroyed large urban communities, generating a balance of 660 dead and more than 50,000 wounded. A disgrace to the country of half the world.
In a show of solidarity with the country and its victims, several of the most important Latin artists have decided to unite to provide a concert for those affected. The "Ecuador I'm here" event plans to raise funds towards reconstruction Ecuador.
The festival will take place next May 11 and will feature the participation of established artists as Chayanna, Franco de Vita, Maluma, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Willy Chirino, among others.
Tickets for the event went on sale since last week and the proceeds will be donated to United Development Programme (UNDP), responsible for bringing resources to Ecuador.
