A couple of weeks the birth of a new super-group of experimental rock llea name Gone Is Gone formed by music producer for films Mike Zarin who for this project will handle guitars and keyboards, Tony Hajjar drummer it announced at the Drive-in with which he is on tour and prepares to make new music, singer and bassist from Mastodom Troy Sanders and guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age who recently released new material with his Sweethead project who he last also participated in a Perfect Circle.
This project has announced the release of an EP that could go on sale on July 8 and through the Beats 1 program recognized speaker Zane Lowe just presented their first single Violescent with a sludge vibe that fits perfectly with the voice Sanders and we had already given a sneak preview at the time of the official announcement of the group.
The project stems from the different collaborations that have taken place between Hajjar and Zarin who had joined at different times to create soundtracks for several film works both as a video game. From there came the idea of bringing together a band that could represent the sound that these were experiencing thus recruited Van Leeuwen and Sander who each on his side had communicated concerns to Hajjar they wanted to do something with this . After meeting the band for some sessions already I had 20 songs under his arm which says that 13 could form a LP and others that could be used in some soundtracks in which the work could Gone is Gone.
To Hajjar was the perfect time for the launch since all its members in various projects and all with a lot of activity in recent years but now is the "timing" perfect within the busy schedule of the musicians.
We might expect if time allows its members a tour of part of this new project that will give much to talk about.
