The Municipal Board of the quartermaster of Asuncion told the Spanish musician Alejandro Sanz illustrious visitor of the Paraguayan capital for its public stance against violence against women, said a city spokesman. The resolution was approved a week after several councilors propose to grant such treatment to Sanz in recognition of his attitude during a concert in Mexico last February, when he walked off the stage to come to the defense of a woman by a man she was being hounded .
The spokesman said a ceremony is being organized for next April 24, the day on which act in Asuncion Sanz, to deliver personally such recognition. Sanz is scheduled to perform at the Manuel Ferreira, the stadium of the football club Olimpia. Rodrigo Buongermini councilors and Federico Franco Troche, the architects of the initiative, recalled last week that at least 20% of Paraguayan, equivalent to about 300,000 women suffered some form of violence.
