The legendary cult British band Oasis, will have its own documentary film. The film will be directed by Mat Whitecross, and is expected to hit the big screen in September 2016.

One of the most difficult task has been to recruit the Gallagher brothers. Both have pledged to meet and share their memories of the early days of Oasis in a series of interviews trying to build the collective imagination of an era that began in 1991 until their separation in 2009.

"They met the 20 year anniversary of the great concerts we gave in England. I have interviewed about 20 times, I have not seen but surely going to be good , "said Noel Gallagher.

The film will be produced by the same team behind the Oscar winning film award for best documentary film, "Amy" which showed the life and death of Amy Winehouse. He was director Asif Kapadia and producer James Gay-Rees. Both rely on offering "a rare and candid perspective" of the new film.

To realize and implement this idea, Big Brothers Recordings, the label that was created in 2000, to release recordings, singles and DVDs Oasis in the UK and Ireland, has ensured that allow full access to all files on the group.

The film about Oasis will the rise to stardom of the band with its first album "Definitely Maybe", published in 1994, and which over the years became a classic, being album fastest sold in the British musical history to date.

the many successes of the group, who managed to be number one with eight singles in the UK will be remembered. After their separation in 2009, both musicians continued careers separately. Beady Hey Liam founded the group, which was dissolved in 2014, and Noel created a solo project in the High Flying Birds.

The director Whitecross, is a fan of Britpop and has specialized in making movies about rock stars. He worked on the films "Spike Island", which tells the story of The Stone Roses.
