The presentation made by the American band The Eagles in the 2016 edition of the Grammy Awards was considered by its members as the farewell show. Affected by Glenn Frey's death, which occurred in January, they have decided to put an end to his career. This was confirmed by singer Don Henley in an interview with the BBC, where he said: "I do not think you'll see us act again I think it was a proper farewell.".
This decision was taken 45 years after having started their musical directions, which have been responsible for musical classics like The Hotel California, Tequila Sonrise or One of These nigths.
The Eagles was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and American Roll in 1998 and has sold over 150 million copies of discs.
In the presentation of the Grammy, they performed the success Take It Easy, composed Frey and Jackson Browne. When they announced their participation, the band's manager, Irving Azoff, told international media that, knowing that the Academy would do something to honor his friend, "the band decided that he would rather participate instead of looking at what others were doing ".
Frey died at age 69 due to complications from their already known conditions of rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis.
