René Angélil, husband and former manager of Celine Dion, dies

"Rene Angelil, 73, died this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His family asked that the family privacy be respected at this time . " This was the message delivered in a statement to CNN on Thursday 14 January, in which publicist Kim Jakweth announced the death of Rene Angelil, husband of the famous Celine Dion.

Also a former representative of the American singer, had been diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998, however, his health had worsened over the past year 2015, to the point that Dion had to abandon his presentation at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The death of Angélil sum and three unfortunate and unexpected deaths at the hands of cancer in less than five days: the legendary British musician David Bowie; London the remembered actor and director Alan Rickman; and now the former manager of Celine Dion, Rene Angelil.
