Some 30,000 people had signed a manifesto calling Monday a recently joined the heavy metal periodic table bearing the name of "Lemmio" in honor of Lemmy, the recently deceased singer of Motorhead. "Lemmy was a force of nature and embodied the essence of 'heavy metal,'" says the manifesto, published on the website Change.org, and addressed to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, which has just added four new items chemicals to the periodic table and is pending name them.
British Ian Kilmister, aka Lemmy, bassist and singer for the classic song "Ace of Spades", died of cancer at age 70 in December, at his home in Los Angeles. Its popularity was both his music and his personality drinker and womanizer without remorse.
