The piano insists with initial notes. He answers the orchestra, especially the flutes. Follow the piano with his feverish melody, while the wind-woods give meaning and atmosphere to the landscape widens to the horizon, and the breeze, at times hovering savannah, collect nerve cords. The heat travels oboe and piano once again supports the idea. Then the tutti of the orchestra accompanies the feeling of fullness, all with a wonderful chord in major mode to lead the impassioned speech.

A Antonio Estévez take just nine minutes to describe the feelings that occur when spending "Noon on the plain". And as Armando Reveron paints the glow that blinds the eyes of who is on the shores of tropical sea, Estevez symphonic voice pronounces the accumulation of sensations that crowd when it is aware of the plain.

With these words, we pay tribute to one of the most important, about its centennial, which met last January 3 contemporary Venezuelan composers. In addition to the above work, Estevez is also author of the famous "Cantata Criolla", a magnificent symphonic-choral work and two male soloists: tenor, who assumes the identity of Florentino, and the baritone, who gives voice to the Devil ; and through the lyrics by the poet Alberto Arvelo Torrealba, he narrates a way of counterpoint, the devil wants to take the soul of Florentino, who comes out unscathed from the war, thanks to his famous invocation of saints and virgins, to which , the Devil can not name, lest perish.

Antonio Estévez was born in the plains town of Calabozo (Guarico), on January 3, 1916. From very young was interested in music, and was part of the town band. In Caracas, he was part of the Caracas Martial Band directed by Pedro Elías Gutiérrez (author of "Alma Llanera"). Also part of the Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.
