Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band were the special guests of the latest edition of the comedy show Saturday Night Live, and as part of the launch of "The Ties That Bind: The River Collection box set , " performed "Meet Me In The City" and "the Ties that Bind" which featured a sax solo Jake Clemons, nephew of the late "the Big Man" Clarence Clemons. The group was not above that scenario since 2002, when they did the last time.

However, the big surprise of the night came in the credits of the program, when Paul McCartney, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and other members of SNL took the stage to play the carol "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", leaving all really surprised with the interpretation. The big surprise served to close with a flourish this year farewell program.

The participation of former Beatles, Springsteen was announced via Twitter, where he warned fans with the words "We have a couple of surprises for #SpringsteenSNL tonight ... and be sure to stay for the end credits". Later Springsteen Tweets hung a photo with him and McCartney backstage before the show.
