The musician Scott Weiland, former lead singer of the band Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, died at age 48 in the state of Minnesota while on tour with his current group, The Wildabouts, his manager confirmed to CNN.

Tom Vitorino gave no details on the cause of death, which is also collected by other means. Weiland had in the past many problems due to drug use and was in jail for drug possession and drunk driving.

After the dissolution of the Stone Temple Pilots ( "Plush", "Interstate Love Song") in 2002, Weiland joined the band Velvet Revolver, mostly made up of former members of Guns N'Roses.

However, six years after the group split from him after accusing him of "too unpredictable behavior on stage." Neither worked his new attempt with Stone Temple Pilots, who were again separated in 2013.
