"El Flaco" may have died in 2012, but his music, no doubt, will be eternal. After more than three years of the death of Luis Alberto Spinetta, it came to light last November 24, a posthumous album material called "Spinetta and The Friend," recorded in mid-2011 with Rodolfo Garcia (former drummer almond) and bassist Daniel Ferrón.
Dante (vocalist and bandleader Kuryaky Illya and The Valderramas), Catarina, Valentina and Vera, the children of Spinetta, were responsible for presenting this album that compiles the latest recorded by his father.
"It was open sessions and find that things were more 'pro' than they could be. Put them play and songs and exploited, it was simply respecting the warmth that had that dynamic and add those extra things that my dad wanted to record" he said Dante in the presentation.
Also he told Rodolfo Garcia, co-producer of the album and lifelong friend of Spinetta, who all came from casual weekly meetings that gathered to play, drink wine and share stories. "The wave was together once a week, on Wednesdays. We started rehearsing in my house, and then in a study. Having a recording studio practically at our disposal, he invited to leave recorded things we were playing "
One of the curiosities of the album is that everything was recorded in a first shot in just two days. A 2011 Friday and Saturday were enough for the trio of Spinetta, Ferron Garcia and produced a historical material.
The "Flaco" Spinetta died Feb. 8, 2012, at 62 years old, a product of lung cancer. During his more than 40 years of musical career he led key groups in the history of Argentine rock like Almond, Rabid Fish, Invisible and Spinetta Jade.
