On this day, November 12, 1923 but was born in the village of La Candelaria, near Carora (Lara State) guitarist Alirio Diaz.

This musician is one of the most prolific and important performers of the guitar that has given Venezuela. In fact, thanks to him, Venezuela entered the world stage of classical guitar.

Hand of a composer and extraordinary guitarist Antonio Lauro, Alirio Diaz led the confines of the world the sounds of Venezuela, the difficult rhythms, passion and rhythm of music that carries on every note all the cultural heritage we have received of Spain, Africa and Aboriginal.

But ... we know a little more Alirio Diaz, and I do not mean what could be achieved in WikiPedia.

The master Alirio owns incredible versatility. Although it is now a very old man, in his time concert he was able to move from a Partita by Johann Sebastian Bach to a Six by criollo law in a second with the same mastery and ease, without losing detail or passion for the instrument.

As good larense, is a person with great humor, always with a smile on their lips, capable of providing the melodies from his instrument a good caress the ears.

But we are not only in the presence of a virtuoso performer and a wonderful person. Alirio sponsors for many years one of the most important competitions for guitarists ago; and although Venezuela is going through a period of crisis and difficulties severe enough, the guitar world recognized in the International Guitar Competition Alirio Diaz one of the events that highlight the professionals that instrument.

Thus, in this 2015, it will be held the eighteenth edition of the event, from 21 to 28 November in his native Carora.

We will be watching the event to track the winner. Meanwhile, Happy Birthday Maestro Alirio Diaz!
