The incredibly talented and skilled New Mexican musician Raul Midon is the real deal, my friends! I discovered this amazing musician when I "just like that" fell in love with his last jazz album "Don't Hesitate" back in 2014, most of them composed by himself but also featuring with Bill Withers, Richard Bona, Pete Townshend and others.

Raul Midon is a real inspiration for all of us, starting from all of the musicians in this world finishing with every human being on the planet.Born as a blind person talks a lot about his strong character that he has. At very early age with a lot of passion and love starts his musical journey firstly learning the drum and at the same time starting to mastering the guitar. For now, he managed to become a composer, lyricist, guitarist, percussionist and vocalist with a unique ability to transform his voice into a trumpet. Right now I am wondering, who need more?

His eight studio album"Don't Hesitate" is made with 14 songs. Every one of them specific and has it's own beauty from the inside. The Lyrics of all songs are touching and soulful about happenings that are happening in all of our lives. Most of them sang in English.

The album starts with the incredibly dynamic and emotional song "Libertad." This song musically is a fussion of South American dance called "Carnavalito" with lyrics that is related to a tragic incident that happened at the border of San Diego. A young boy tried to cross the border but unfortunately got killed by the guards.

The album continues with "Mi Amigo Cubano" (sang in Mexican), "Was It Ever Really Love," "If you want me to" (composed together with Richard Bona), "Always Time For Love," ( a ballad with a subtle message in it), etc. Later the album finishes with the incredible composition of Pete Townshendend. "I Can See For Miles" is the one and only song that is not composed by Raul on this album, filled with different beautiful melodic lines by his unique voice.

What I liked the most in this album is the way he is playing with the rhythm and accents, showing his knowledge and on the other hand his beautiful voice with pure emotion in it.

While I was discovering this remarkable artist, I watched a lot of interviews while taking notes on some pleasant thoughts of him. For a nice end of this blog I will share my favorite one with you that truly moved me:

- "As a little child, I was obviously obsessed with straight lines because I couldn't make them. But soon I learned that life isn't about straight lines and directions... It is all about making slight changes, every day little by little."
