It’s always a pleasure to relax and listen to master musicians, playing together with ease and enjoyment. This is a trio of superb musicians, legendary jazz artists that came together to make this fantastic music. The performance we can listen to here is extraordinary, something you do not get to see every day. It’s not the first time Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Billy Cobham have played as a trio, but this project called “World of Rhythm” is something truly remarkable. These three giants of jazz joined forces in January 1983 at the Palazzo Dei Congressi in Lugano - a picturesque town in Southern Switzerland that has hosted the fine open air "Jazz Festival" in the summer for almost 30 years now. Their mutual respect and friendship are evident on stage, in their playing, and on their faces. They obviously enjoy playing together, and that’s why the music comes out that good. Somewhere past the middle of the concert, they all have solo acts, which are equally astonishing and masterful. For all jazz lovers, this is highly recommended. Enjoy!
