Drake- Summer Sixteen

Just when I thought Drake couldn’t top what he’s already put out, he drops yet another hit track. Summer Sixteen is, without a doubt, one of the best previews to an album I’ve seen as of late. Everything from the lyrics to the beat, and tempo to the end is absolutely spectacular. Summer Sixteen is just a taste though, a taste of what is about to be an almost undoubtedly amazing album.

Sumer Sixteen starts off slow, but rapidly progresses into a delight of verses aimed at those who’ve taken shots at the 6 God. Dizzy was quick to take more shots at Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill, and he didn’t stop there. Drake absolutely killed anyone and anything in his way, Meek Mill, Kanye, even mentioning President Obama in a verse.

As we know from the past, Drake has absolutely no problem in dealing with his enemies through diss tracks. This is just another sign of not only the lyrical power that Drizzy holds, but the sheer power he holds overall as a musician in today’s world. Drake can rap about anything and people will listen to it; his beef with Meek Mill started almost a year ago, yet Drake is still spitting raps about him.

Summer Sixteen has a tone very familiar to some of Drake’s previous releases. Drake is here to show the world that he is “A #1”, (Sorry… I love Frank Sinatra), and that he isn’t afraid to step up to the plate and prove it. I’ve got to hand it to Drake, he isn’t backing down from anything thrown at him, and Summer Sixteen was definitely built around not backing down.
