The date is December 31, 2015, and Kanye has come out of the dark with a new song titled, “Facts.” Kanye, who has been quite silent, music wise, surprised us all with this song, and it’s no doubt that Kanye has some beef with a lot of people.
Kanye, who was originally signed with Nike and released two sneakers with them, signed to Adidas in December of 2013. In this past year with Adidas he has released more sneakers with them than with Nike, plus he has an amazingly expensive clothing line with them. It’s no doubt Kanye himself is doing much better with Adidas than he ever thought he could with Nike. We all knew that ever since leaving Nike, Kanye had a pretty big beef with the sneaker company. But when Kanye dropped Facts I really didn’t understand how angry Kanye truly was.
“Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy just jumped over Jumpman.” These lyrics are more than just words, they are stabs at Nike and Drake. Drake is currently signed with Jordan, which is owned by Nike. Drake has a few sneakers with Jordan that are quite pricey and unique. Drake and Future teamed up to put out “What a Time to Be Alive.” In the album there was a song titled “Jumpman,” and it was basically all about Jordan and Drake. Kanye didn’t seem to like this and it’s evident from the lyrics of Facts.
Kanye is known for having a short fuse, but this song really came out of nowhere and it was definitely aimed at those at Nike and some others in the music industry. Kanye thinks he is the best of all time, he's said this plenty of times in his career, and not going to lie, Facts is a pretty good song. It’s modeled around Drake and Future’s “Jumpman” and just takes stabs at everyone possible. Kanye has an ego that should not be tampered with, this song is just one of the many reasons to watch out when messing with Yeezus.
