Evan Wickham is the brother of the famous Paul Wickham. Both brothers are heavily involved in the ministry and musically serving God. The market is flowing with material from him and many other artists involved to spread the gospel to the ends of the earth. Mysterious Things the debut album hints at the more-than-secret things or mysterious things about God. Like parents, like son. Seeking to make his faith his own, he released Above the Sky to spectacular reviews. This was one of the first albums he ever released independently. We would then see a followup album released independently as well. Make Us One was a breakout hit among the Horizon Christian church that he co-pastored. We all must wonder where we’re going after this life is all through is the overall message of the album. Much of it sounds like a party. Talk about celebrating God’s creation, which one should do. The general tone of much of the music stays at that level. Then again, much of the Christian community now favors these hyped up ballads and rock-style worship songs. His next album should call for more of a mix of style. We’re missing the old hymns here—just an opinion. He is very talented as they all are and we look forward to another effort in the near future.
