Chris Tomlin's Love Ran Red

Chris Tomlin is one of the most respected contemporary Christian artists. When listening to his music, one may find themselves immediately humbled into the presence of Jesus Christ. One of his most recent albums called “The Love Ran Red” is a collection of songs outlining a particular passage of scripture that quotes the point where when converted to Christ, one sinner’s sin is washed in Jesus’ blood (which is red) till it is white like snow.

His unique blend of truthful poetry taken from biblical sources mixed with Rock grooves and a great beat make the songs stand out to this generation. Many christians that are old-timers would not like this album because they’re into the old hymns and spiritual songs. They even say the new CCM music is of the devil because it fails the mission of proclaiming the glorious gospel of our God. They even site passages referring to where they claim everything to be satanic.

Personally, I am a fan of this brilliant album. I have come to a knowledge of Christianity through this music. I love the colors that the album incorporates. What better a place to come to the knowledge of the truth of scripture and where we are all headed. His interpretation of “Psalm 100” has the lyrics fall in just the right places. It is an upper-tempo piece that is sure to get your heart ready for God. It has just the perfect melody for the rhyme scheme or the lack of rhyme scheme in certain parts of the text. Some other people would also sight Chris Tomlin’s craftiness of putting the song lyrics against the music to make it stand out. The gospel is not already palatable and a lot of preachers and teachers say that the Gospel is not meant to be palatable to people—and yet, we are supposed to bring the Gospel to every creature? Bringing the gospel to people should take many different forms and this writer believes that there should be many different ways to give the gospel to as many lost souls as possible—this reviewer included.

“Jesus Loves Me,” is probably one of the strongest testament of love  for people and the Lord on the album. The songwriter makes a positive and colorful declaration that would make any new Christian believer weep with joy and accept Christ. The whole album is a shining gem of the Lord’s work, thus fulfilling the great commission to keep giving the gospel to the world.
