The Santa Cruz based Chill-hop lofi electronica duo, WaxFeet, hopes to inspire a calm environment and relaxing sounds with their new song "Everything is Everything." They create splendid audiovisual experiences that excite, calm, and hopefully heal the mind and soul. You’ll find influences of J Dilla and Nujabes, with their own signature sounds that excite the world of lofi hiphop. “We often ask ourselves: to chill, or not to chill?" says WaxFeet. "There is enough commotion in life without jacking up brain waves further. We are driven to write music that heals. Without words.”
"Everything is Everthing" is a unique mix of acoustic sounds, like the piano in the opening, and electronica overlaying it all. This combination puts your mind and body in a resting state and allows the listener to release their stress, anxieties, and realities. It allows a space for calm, a place where you can just not think about the world around you for five minutes.
These days, it is quite hard to find an artist willing to be labeled under the terms chill, lo-fi, and downtempo who is trying to push the boundaries, or at least breathe some fresh air into these genres. Luckily, Waxfeet and their new video/song “Everything is Everything” could be exactly that breath of fresh air downtempo, trip-hop, or whatever you want to call it needs these days.
Do yourself a solid and take a moment to dip into the rich and chill audiovisual world of Waxfeet. With their latest video/single “Everything is Everything” dropping in the next few days, the Santa Cruz-based chillhop duo create lush sonic grooves that sit somewhere between J Dilla, Ta-ku and Bonobo. This is easy riding, high flying electronica, marinated in neoclassical melodies and lo-fi hip hop grooves.
