Young, Blooming Artist

The first time that I heard this guy sing (I was just hanging out in Youtube discovering new music) was earlier this year right before his songs became a really big hit. The first song that got stuck in my head was “Youth” from his album “Blue Neighbourhood”. The album was released on December 4, 2015, and that charted him top 40, peaking at 23, until it became a really big hit earlier this year.

One of the things that caught me was—which at first I felt really weird about—Troye Sivan particularly used hand gestures, and he dances a lot while singing. I mean, at first you will really find it weird but when you watch him a little longer, it seems that his gestures are just perfect for his songs; and for that it became his trademark. Another thing that I really admire is his live performances—I’ve watched a bunch of them in Youtube. When it comes to his singing, you can’t really tell the difference between listening to his live performances and listening to his EP, recorded songs. What you hear in his recorded songs is what you can hear in his live performances. His voice is the same, live or recorded. I love the quality of his voice, his genre and his style. It brings a good vibe feeling. It’s kinda weird but It’s actually the first time that I admire an artist/singer who is openly gay, and I became fond of him.

The young artist/singer/songwriter Troye Sivan has gone from a Youtube phenomenon into one of the hottest artists of the year. You should check him out, especially when you just want to chill around because his songs give you that chill and good vibe atmosphere.
