Flight Facilities' Claire de Lune, featuring Christine Hoberg, is one of my favourite songs. Although it spans a whole seven minutes and fourty three seconds, I've been known to listen to it on repeat. Brooklyn based singer-songwriter, Christine Hoberg, has a uniquely rich quality to her voice which is beautifully supported by the repetitive electronic instrumentation Flight Facilities creates in Claire de Lune. Hoberg co-wrote the track with the Australian producer duo and the track has enjoyed an appropriate amount of attention on the charts. While some electronic and vocal collaborations may feel a little disjointed, Claire de Lune is mesmerisingly seamless. While the vocal is introduced as a muffled texture, it fades into the song beautifully and the clarity of Hoberg’s voice can be heard in full force.
In the same subtly addicting style of Flight Facilities’ collaboration with Gisele, Crave You, Claire de Lune is a gentle, somewhat repetitive, dreamy track. It combines electronic piano sounds , strings and percussion with interesting electronic textures. Claire de Lune is a rich, warm soundscape that underlies an exceptionally clear and beautiful vocal. Hoberg and Flight Facilities have create something that’s simultaneously easy to listen to and unique in quality.Listen to it.
