Berlin Blondes

I am dancing naked on my own. I’ve got only my boots on. And there is a lot of pink lipstick on my sad face. Pink lipstick is everywhere. I’m looking in a mirror and want to laugh but I can’t. You see? I just can’t. I’ve got to keep dancing; I’ve got to think less. It’s just me and the sounds that I hear. I watch my ugly naked body moving and I think I am going to be sick right now. But I’ve got to hold on and keep on moving. I take that lipstick and start painting different sh#t on my body. I write words you don’t want to know. Those are my confessions and things I must remember. I must. I must remember, I must dance and must look at my naked body which is getting old and becoming more and more ridiculous. You know what? I need a bridal veil. It’d be a perfect fit. This dance would be complete.

Music that I’m dancing to is fantastic. It is Berlin Blondes. Oh sh#t I can’t stand my own moves to the beat. But that veil is just gorgeous – you should have seen it!

Berlin Blondes, yes, so. This is a forgotten band from Glasgow. They were formed in 1979. Released some singles. Then, in 1981, they released their self-titled LP. It is a great album but not so many people think so. Sales were horrible, they got kicked out of EMI and signed to and indie label Scratch Records where they released another single. And that’s it. Critics didn’t like them, people didn’t buy the album. That’s the story. Sad but very common… Oh you should have seen me dancing to Berlin Blondes with all that lipstick and a veil! It’s so ugly and fascinating!

Why Berlin Blondes? It’s very simple – their sound is like a pink lipstick on your nipples and a white veil on your head and d#ck. I don’t know what has been wrong in 1981 but the album is solid, tasty and freaking great. And if you love some weird melodic experiments you should find it. And dance to it. Especially, when you are sad. When you want to laugh but just can’t.
