Like my Dead Friend
My yellow cup is full of coffee and milk – the substance is scary and alive. My grey street is full of spring – the atmosphere is anxious and alive as well. My thoughts are bigger than me, and my hopes are stirring in my stomach like some little slimy creatures. My faith is silent. It’s waiting for something. I’m listening to “Like My Dead Friend”. Listening to it over and over. Cigarettes are looking at me; their “faces” are full of malicious joy. I wanna bite their filters off, spit them on a floor and tread them down with a horrible laughter. My air is very thick, and I think I can touch it. Listening to “A Sickness Called Faith”. My faith is not silent anymore.
Modern Blossom is an Italian duo playing some kind of synthpop and “electro wave” according to their official Facebook page. Fat electronic sounds, cold melodies, sweat sleazy voice, two young skinny males in black – everything the young girls love. Well, I’m just kidding. It’s not only the young girls who love Modern Blossom because this combination does really work in their case. All those components are harmonious; and Modern Blossom’s music can cause light melancholy and give you real joy. The guys do know how to play their synth and guitar. They know how to create a really simple and good song at the turn of pop and alternative sound.
Anxiety and desire to be sophisticated lovers; sociopathy and striving for fame: welcome to Modern Blossom music. Two charming creatures playing “Cruel Intensions”. Hope you will love them the way I do. And I hope they will do it – they will get their piece of cake because they deserve it. They do.
