Tony Sour dropped a pretty sweet single with his first release called Sour Patch Bounce. Sparse on lyrics but heavy on bass, Sour Patch Bounce should be something that the club DJs and radio jocks will latch on to like a Benjamin blowing down a windy street. One thing that comes across from the opening of this fun tune is that Tony Sour doesn’t take it all too seriously. Hey, it’s only dance music after all.
Whether you want to work up a sweat in club or Netflix and Chillax with your honey Sour Patch Bounce can go either way, day or night. The beat is kept tight throughout the track and that works well with the looseness of the vocal delivery. When you get right down to it it’s this kind of contrast that Sour uses to keep the song moving along just the way it does.
I can’t wait to hear what the chop and screw crowd do with this little number when they get their hot little hands on it and I’ve been told that I won’t have to wait too long. The press kit I received from his label (Blue Label Records) contained a press release about an online remix contest they’ve set up inviting DJs, artists, producers and anyone else who want to take a shot at it a chance to just that. By the time this article gets published the contest should be just about ready to wrap up so check out Tony Sour’s original version of the single along with what the other mix masters of come up with: wavo.me/tonysour/sour-patch-bounce-remix-competition
Now that Sour’s secured our attention it should be interesting in hearing what he follows up with next. Let’s see what the future hold for this new artist.
