When Rochelle first entered the Dutch music scene, she seemed set to be our very own Beyoncé. She first got noticed after winning the fourth season of X Factor Holland, and quickly after, released her first album.
Even in the same year it was clear, this was no R&B star, as expected, she wanted to make her mark on dance music.
While she had the public eye on her in 2011, it took her a few more years, to really make a name for herself within dance music. It took one collaboration to put her on the map: Yellow Claw’s “Shotgun”. Her biggest hit to date.
She’s been able to get chart success every once in a while, but online her dance collaborations attract countless views. Her new single will, most likely get the same response.
The catchy “All Night Long” is easier to get into than her Yellow Claw collaboration. Where “Shotgun” was edgy, “All Night Long” is poppy. Even though, that sounds like a perfect thing for the radio, it’s also slightly predictable, which really only gets saved by its catchiness. When the song stops playing, you’re still singing it.
I always have a bit of problems with seeing her in her videos. She always looks like she’s not having fun doing it at all. I’m sure, she’s just trying to be edgy and cool, but to me it just looks flat, like she’s not feeling the song at all.
Nevertheless, I am feeling this song and it would be cool if this song would bring her to charts again, for a change.
