At one point in time, we have all thought about a living in a different era and wishing you were alive to experience the music of that time. Ranging from the 1920’s to even the late 1990’s (insert only 90’s kids will understand joke), there is a part of us that wishes we can witness it with our own eyes. The 1960’s is a decade I hear most people wish they can experience, especially the famous Woodstock Festival. Well, let me tell you about an artist who hails from such hippie town in Woodstock, N.Y., Galapaghost. Galapaghost writes his music through experience and knowing that he comes from such a storied town, we know he was already born with a story to tell. “Salt Lake City” is based upon this young musician’s experience through this city and the people he has come to know. The sacrifice, the pain, the confusion, we feel the experiences with him and what Salt Lake City may have done to him. Of course, we have our own interpretation of what Salt Lake City means to him in this song but we like for our listeners to have their own interpretation and come up with their own experiences that they go through when listening to a song. No matter what decade you wish you lived in, where you are now is pretty great to us because you can listen to the music of before and now, as we say now, listen to Galapaghost and his song “Salt Lake City”.
