I have been a fan of Crystal Gayle my entire life. What she has done in the field of country music is awesome to a tee. On reviewing her 1982 album True Love, I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of the concert staples she performs nowadays belong to this album. From the classic “Our Love Is On The Faultline,” and “Till I Gain Control Again” to lesser known gems like “Deeper In The Fire” and the title track—this album has many surprises on it, including the hit “Baby, What About You.” The latter number is a concert staple.
The album has so much to offer that it’s considered one of the top country albums of the 80s. Gayle’s vocals are in top form as usual and this album contains at least two of her 20 number one hits that she has garnered during her career. It’s something too easy to get hooked to.
